An exhibition of works by the pupils of Kirovograd children’s art school named after A.A.Osmerkin “New Year and Christmas carnival” is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the school.
   Kirovograd children’s art school began its work in 1959, in 1992 it was named after a prominent painter and pedagogue A.Osmerkin. A bright creative teaching stuff works in the school, which for a long time has been headed by Honoured worker of culture, member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine L.Bondar. Many graduates became famous artists, Honoured artists of Ukraine, laureates of regional art awards in fine art and history of art named after A.A.Osmerkin and in architecture, heraldy and vexilology and decorative and applied arts named after Ya.Pauchenko. But those who had not become artists and had chosen another profession preserved love to creativity and ardour for art forever.
   Exposition of the current exhibition is made up of nearly thirty works by young artists, aged from 14 to 16, created under the guidance of the teachers T.Bondar, V.Plitin, S.Hnoeva, L.Kiryanova, O.Kuznetsova, A.Plitina, I.Tymofienko, H.Ivanova and O.Kyryanov. Graphic compositions, sculptures, batiks, decorative needlework and dolls from the series “Christmas carnival” incarnate mythological and literary diversity of traditional themes of New Year holidays. All the works are characterized by impetuous imagination and sheer wish for cognition because children’s creativity has always stimulated full value existence with an open heart, bright thoughts and good deeds.
