Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and veksilology
and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko was initiated by the Kirovohrad
Regional Council (resolution from May 31, 2002 ¹ 36) on application of Kirovohrad
Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, Kirovohrad Regional
Department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society and Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the
National Union of artists of Ukraine.
The award is given in three nominations: "architecture",
"heraldry and vexilology", "decorative and applied arts". The award is
given for:
in nomination “architecture” - for putting into operation facilities of
architecture and town building, including industrial facilities, reconstruction and
restoration of historical monuments and monuments of landscape architecture, construction
(restoration) of which has considerably influenced shaping of aesthetic environment of
communities of the region, has set an example of usage of advanced modern technology,
designs and materials and has a significant historical and architectural value etc.;
in nomination “heraldry and vexilology” - for realized projects: symbols of
territorial communities of the region (coat of arms, flags, logos, decorations of
different degrees etc.); renewal of historical symbols of the region (on conditions of
practical application by regional territorial communities); symbols which are employed on
architectural objects, put into operation in interiors and objects of landscape
architecture, have a significant historical and art value etc.;
in nomination “decorative and applied arts” – for carpet and textile works,
tree-dimensional composition from metal, wood, clay, stone, glass etc. which are employed
on architectural objects put into operation, in interiors and objects of landscape
architecture, which have a significant historical and art value etc.
Annualy on July 1, Day of Architecture of Ukraine, winners are awarded
the title of "Laureate of the Regional Award in architecture, heraldry and
vexilology, decorative and applied arts named after Yakov Pauchenko", they also
receive certificate and pecuniary reward.

Works in the techniques of decorative painting, vytynanka, fettling and batik
which reflect historical traditions of Ukrainian folk painting and introduce elements of
wall ornaments of Kirovohrad region into modern decorative and applied arts. Author:

The art project-farmstead “Embroidered hut”, which shows the towels
embroidered by the artist on homespun linen, which preserve samples of ornaments and
colour palette of the several generations of embroiderers of Kirovohrad region and central
Ukraine. Author: Aivazovska Raisa Oleksiivna – head of Znamianka Association of Artists
of decorative and applied arts, embroiderer, collector and researcher of ornaments of
