On December 8, 2015, on birthday of a famous painter and pedagogue O.Osmerkin, a traditional awarding of the laureates of Regional Award in fine arts and study of art named after Olexander Osmerkin took place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
   This prestigious award was founded by Kirovograd Regional Councilon application of Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of artists of Ukraine and is awarded in three nominations: "national tradition", "modern tendencies", "study and history of arts".
   This year laureates of the Award named after Olexander Osmerkin are well-known Kirovohrad artists, members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Andrii Kadyhrob in the nomination "national tradition" and Andrii Khvorost in the nomination "modern tendencies". In the nomination "study and history of arts" won a creative group of Kirovograd Regional Art Museum: Tetiana Tkachenko (director), Valentyna Nozhenko (chief curator), Anatolii Kimnatnyi (head of the museum department – art gallery of Petro Ossovskii “World and Motherland”) - for the creation of printed project – set of post-cards “Kirovograd through the eyes of painters”.
   During the event head of Kirovohrad Regional Council, head of the jury of the award O.Chornoivanenko gave the laureates certificate, pecuniary reward, badge of laureate of the award, honorary prize of Regional Council and Regional State Administration - statuette of "Steppe eagle".
   The laureates were congratulated by deputy mayor of Kirovohrad S.Kolodiazhnyi, head of Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, by the way twice laureate of the Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and vexillology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko, L.Kharlamova, colleagues-painters. A performance of the ensemble of stringed and bow instruments “Dyvosvit” of Kirovohrad music school №1 named after H.Neuhaus became a pleasant music greeting.
   After the official part of the event all the present viewed the exposition of the memorial hall of the museum and exhibition of Kirovohrad artists winners of the award, whose works vividly show each artist’s individual style and represent versatile palette of modern Ukrainian fine art.
