On September 17, 2015 an opening of an exhibition “Velyka Perspektyvna Str. – from St. Elisaveta fortress to Guardian Angel of the town” of author’s photographs by a well-known Kirvohrad photojournalist Ihor Demchuk took place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The exhibition was presented within the framework of an art project “At the crossroads of Elisavethrad - Kirovohrad” initiated by the museum to the Town Day. The project is aimed at presentation of Kirovohrad streets in photographs showing succession of the language of architecture from the town foundation to the present as an indissoluble history of formation of an integral urban environment recreating life of inhabitants and guests of the town in order to awake interest to our past.
   During the exhibition opening a theme booklet “VelykaPerspektyvna Str. – from St.Elisaveta fortress to Guardian Angel of the town” was presented and authors slide-show of Ihor Demchuk“ Art project “At the crossroads of Elisavethrad - Kirovohrad” was shown.
   In the author’s photographs of a famous Kirovohrad photographer – member of the National Union of Journalists and photo artists of Ukraine, laureate of Regional Journalism Award in the nomination “photo journalism”, special correspondent of the regional newspaper “Narodneslovo” - I.Demchuk, that are shown at the exhibition, VelykaPerspektyvna Str. is presented as an image of the future hope, as a world where our contemporaries preserving achievements of the past, searching for the way out of complicated labyrinths of the history, are creating new Ukraine.
   The exposition of the exhibition also shows format photo installations-collages of town sceneries of the streets of different years, that were made by the leading researcher of the museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine A.Nadezhdin. The collages are special emotional emphasis which helps a viewer to make a journey through time and feel an interesting history of one of the central town streets.
   The authors of the exhibition were congratulated on its opening by the head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kirovohrad Town Council A.Nazarets, the head ofthe National Union of Photo Journalists of Ukraine O.Shramko, the head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine A.Khvorost, executive secretary of Kirovohrad Regional organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Yu.Peniaz, editor in chief of regional newspaper “Narodneslovo” V.Bazhan and many worshipers of photo art.
