On July 1 on Day of Architecture of Ukraine traditional awarding of Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and vexillology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko took place in the memorial building of a well-known architect Ya.Pauchenko (1866-1914), where his nephew – a famous painter and pedagogue O.O.Osmerkin spent his childhood and teenage years and where now the Art-Memorial Museum is located.
   Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldy and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko was initiated by the Kirovograd Regional Council in 2002 on application of Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, Kirovograd Regional Department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society and Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of artists of Ukraine. The award is given annually in three nominations: "architecture", "heraldry and vexillology", "decorative and applied arts". Winners are awarded the title of "Laureate of the Regional Award in architecture, heraldry and vexillology, decorative and applied arts named after Yakov Pauchenko", they also receive certificate, pecuniary reward, honorary prize of  Regional Council and Regional State Administration - statuette of "Steppe eagle".
   In 2015 according to the jury’s decision winner was defined only in the category "decorative and applied arts". Head of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration S.Kuzmenko and deputy head of Kirovohrad Regional Council I.Vladov presented honorary awards to a well-known Kirovohrad craftswoman, a member of the National Union of Masters of folk art of Ukraine Dobrovolska Valentyna for original works in carpet weaving technique which reflect historical forms of ornament of Kirovohrad region in modern Ukrainian weaving art.
   During the event the top-officials of the region head of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration S.Kuzmenko and deputy head of Kirovohrad Regional Council I.Vladov, head of Department of Regional development, urban planning and architecture of Regional State Administration V.V.Kulikova, head of Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine People's Artist of Ukraine M.V.Nadezhdin, Merited Builder of Ukraine O.O.Tovstohan congratulated architects on their professional holiday. A musical gift was a performance of teacher of Kirovohrad music school №1 named after H.Neuhaus pianist Olha Tereshchenko.
    Architects, who are well-known in the town and region, received diplomas and commendation from the head of Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Architects of UkraineL.Harlamova. Special congratulations were said to a veteran of architecture in Kirovohrad region, Merited Architect of Ukraine Lidia Kreitor, who had recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She was given a diploma of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine.
   After the event all the present viewed the museum expositions – the exhibition of carpet works by V.Dobrovolska, theme exhibition “Heraldry of Kirovohrad region”, which showed works of the laureates of the award in the nomination "heraldry and vexillology" of the previous years and a travelling exhibition of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine “XV all-Ukrainian festival “Architecture and design 2015”.
