An art event
“A visit to the museum” dedicated to International Museum Day (May 18) took place on
May 16, 2015 in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The event was aimed to present to the
viewers secrets of the museum collection.
This year educational event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the
museum foundation. Research workers prepared an interesting photo and documentary
exhibition “How it all began…”, where one could see not only historical documents on
the museum foundation in far 1985 but also letters from the widow of the painter
N.Osmerkina who was an initiator of the opening of the museum of a prominent painter and
pedagogue A.A.Osmerkin in his native town Elisavetgrad (Kirovograd). N.Osmerkina took an
active part in the construction of the museum. For the first time visitors could see rare
photographs of the museum interiors during restoration and construction, which had begun
in the late 1980th and lasted till 1990th. So the door of A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum
had been hospitably open for residents of Kirovograd and guests of the town for more than
20 years.
Another exciting event was a presentation of a video of the USA production
(2013) about work of a famous Ukrainian artist – our countryman from Svitlovodsk
Kirovograd region, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr
Tovkaylo, who became a laureate of Regional Award in fine arts and study of art named
after Alexander Osmerkin in the nomination “modern tendencies” last year.
Traditional “Art workshop”, a joint art project of the museum and
Kirovograd children’s school of art, also took place. This year theme of the workshop
was “A painter’s studio”. Pupils of the Fine Art Department together with their
teachers H.Yarova-Vintenko, O.Dubova and a well-known artist, member of the National Union
of Artists of Ukraine Yu.Vintenko had been working on reproduction of a painter’s studio
nearly for four hours in a memorial hall of the museum. Young artists had created their
own interpretations of the studio of Professor of Painting A.A.Osmerkin in watercolours
and gouache. The painter’s creative credo was an opinion of a famous French painter
Auguste Renoir: “One learns art in a museum”.
The result of the workshop was an express exhibition of the drawings by
pupils and their teachers, which was presented in one of the museum halls at once. |
