On November 26, 2014 traditional “Lectures on art history dedicated to A.A.Osmerkin’s birth” took place in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. This scientific and educational project is aimed to attract students of art and the humanities to the scientific research and promotion of the creative life of A.A.Osmerkin, fellow painters, modern Kirovohrad artists, and also work of Ya.Pauchenko and other architects of Elisavetgrad-Kirovograd. Lectures on art history are conducted annually on November 26 on A.A.Osmerkin’s birthday according to the old style calendar. And on December 8, on his birthday according to the new calendar style, events dedicated to the awarding of the Regional A.A.Osmerkin Award in fine arts and study of art take place in the museum.
   Theme of this year lectures was “Architectural history of Elisavetgrad”, which is rather topical because in autumn 2014 260th anniversary of the foundation of Elisavetgrad-Kirovograd was celebrated, one of the bright architect of which was famous Elisavetgrad architect Ya.Pauchenko, whose 100th anniversary of death was on October 29.
   One of the peculiarities of current event was its large number of participants. Students from different educational establishments (art and graphic branch of Art Department of Kirovograd State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko; College of Civil Engineering, specialty “architectural design and interior”; Choral Conducting Department of Music College) expressed a wish to show their knowledge of history of the town and its architecture.
   Under the guidance of the teachers PhD in Art History O.I.Kyrychenko, PhD of Education Yu.M.Malezhyk, member of the National Union of architects of Ukraine T.O.Penyaz’ and teacher of “History of Culture of Kirovohrad” L.I.Frenchko young researchers managed to make rather interesting reports-videopresentations. With special attention all the present listened to the presentations of Masters of art and graphic branch of Art Department of Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko Iryna Vovk “Peculiarities of architectural decor in historical buildings of Kirovohrad” and Maria Bubnova “Female Gymnasium. Project of the architect O.L.Lyshnevskyy”, freshmen of the same educational establishment Mykola Khvorost “Identifying the specific characters of decoration of facade by architectural details in historical buildings of the second half of XIX – early XX century. Former house of Ya.V.Pauchenko, now A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum”, Darya Safokshyna “International credit bank. Project of architect Ya.V.Pauchenko”, Kateryna Kukhta “Kirovograd Regional Health Care Department” (former Vaysenberth’s hospital). Project of Ya.V.Pauchenko”, Oleg Mostipan “Merchant house. Kirovograd regional youth library named after O.M.Boichenko”, Olga Dashenko “Passport of the facade of the building of shop “Dzerkalnyy”, students of Kirovograd College of Civil Engineering Iryna Dmitrieva “Project of the town Elisavetgrad of 1833” and Olena Rud “Work of modern Kirovograd architect L.V.Kharlamova” and also student of Kirovograd Music College Kristina Lavrenteva “As long as fire burns” (creative portrait of the teacher, poet, ethnographer, architectural researcher of metal decor of Kirovograd Vadym Smotrenko – to the 80th anniversary)”. By the way, V.V.Smotrenko was present at the lectures and competently commented on the presentations.
   Associate professor of the fine art and design subdepartment of Art and Graphic branch of Kirovograd State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko, PhD in Art History Olena Kyrychenko addressed to the participant with the final speech. She mentioned that participation in such educational projects is stimulus for students to make researches and investigate history of art of Kirovograd region.
   At the end all the present with pleasure saw round the exhibitions of the museum and listened to the fascinating tour by the leading researcher of the museum, art historian, Honoured painter of Ukraine A.M.Nadezhdin.
