Awarding of the laureates of Prize named after Yakov Pauchenko in 2014


   An awarding of Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldy and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko took place in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum on July 1, 2014, Day of Architecture of Ukraine. This is a symbolic event for the museum because it is Yakov Pauchenko’s 100th anniversary of death in October 2014 this year. The museum staff filed a petition to Kirovograd town council about conferment of Y.Pauchenko’s name to one of the town streets where A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum – memorial house of the Pauchenko-Osmerkin (historic and town building landmark, 1899) is situated.
   Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldy and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko was initiated by the Kirovograd Regional Council in 2002 on application of Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, Kirovograd Regional Department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society and Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of artists of Ukraine. The award is given annually in three nominations: "architecture", "heraldry and vexillology", "decorative and applied arts".
   In 2014 honorary awards were given to: in the nomination "architecture" - member of the National Union of architects of Ukraine Alla Pyrogova for her project “Construction of supermarket (multifunctional complex) near the crossroads of A.Tarkovski and Shevchenko Streets in Kirovograd”; in the nomination “heraldry and vexillology” – member of Ukrainian heraldic society Oleg Kluka for the development of works “Symbols of the village Subotsi, Znamyanka, Kirovograd region” and “Symbols of the village Moshoryne, Znamyanka, Kirovograd region”; in the nomination “decorative and applied arts” – a member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine and of the National Union of masters of folk art of Ukraine Olga Kolomiets for creative works of recent years – decorative panel, bead embroidery, embroidery.
   Every laureate said words of thanks and mentioned that it was honourable to receive a high award of regional importance. They also added that an outstanding personality of a talented architecture Yakov Pauchenko inspires them to new creative achievements.
   A concert performance of the teacher of Kirovograd children’s music school ¹1 named after H.Neihaus pianist Olga Tereshchenko was a musical gift for the laureates.
   The head of Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine Yu.Penyaz awarded letters of commendation to the director of the Department of regional development, town building and architecture of Kirovograd regional State administration V.Kulikova and the deputy director of the Department – a chief architect of Kirovograd region I.Kuharenko for a considerable contribution to the development of town building and architecture of the region.
   A peculiarity of this year event was a presentation of theme exhibition “Full of patriotic spirit” dedicated to the memory of a famous Kirovograd architect A.Gubenko, who departed this life last year. This is a joint art project of the museum and Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine with the support of widow of the architect Yu.Gubenko, who gave not only photographs and numerous documents from a personal archive of Anatoliy Lukyanovich, but also many of his works, namely watercolours and paintings.
