It has become a good tradition to celebrate Day of architecture of Ukraine, July 1, by festivities on the occasion of awarding of Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldy and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. Such event is rather symbolic for the museum because the house that is a listed building was built in 1899 on the project of famous Elizabethgrad architect Yakov Pauchenko (1866-1914).
   Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldy and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakov Pauchenko was initiated by the Kirovograd Regional Council in 2002 on application of Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, Kirovograd Regional Department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society and Kirovograd Regional Organization of the National Union of artists of Ukraine. The award is established in three nominations: "architecture", "heraldry and vexillology", "decorative and applied arts". Winners are awarded the title of "Laureate of the Regional Award in architecture, heraldry and vexillology, decorative and applied arts named after Yakov Pauchenko", they also receive certificate, pecuniary reward, honorary prize of Regional Council and Regional State Administration - statuette of "Steppe eagle".
   In 2013 honorary awards were given to: in the nomination "architecture" - member of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, the chief architect of Co.Ltd “Megaline” (Odessa) Sergey Vladimirovich Burlachenko for reconstruction of complex of buildings with annexe on Bolshaya Perspectivnaya Street, 46 in Kirovograd; in the nomination “heraldry and vexillology” – member of Ukrainian heraldic society, graphic designer of Kirovograd advertising agency “Anturazh A” Sergey Stepanovich Marushchak for the development of symbolics of the village Berezhinka, Kirovograd region; in the nomination “decorative and applied arts” - Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine, member of the National Union of masters of folk art of Ukraine, Excellence in Education of Ukraine, head of folk art group of studio “Carpet making” of Kirovograd regional center for children and youth creativity Alexandra Ivonovna Prenko for creative works in carpet making technique (carpets, carpeting dolls).
   Chief architects of the region and the stuff of A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum were awarded letters of commendation of Kirovograd Regional State Administration for a considerable contribution to the development of town building and architecture of the region during the celebration.
