On August 29, 2023, in the O.O.Osmerkin
Art Memorial Museum, the Kropyvnytskyi artist Olha Krasnopolska
presented her own art project "Rubbles of pain and faith: Graphic, drawn
and poetic compositions from the "pink sketchbook"", dedicated to the
Day of Remembrance of the defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle
for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine (August
29) and is presented on the museum website in the "Selected exhibitions"
section.
The talented artist is well known in her hometown, where she
was born and studied at the children's art school named after
O.O.Osmerkin, received a professional art education at the Central
Ukrainian State University named after V.Vynnychenko, and where he is
actively engaged in creativity. Her personal vernissages in museums and
libraries always arouse interest and special emotions among fans of
modern painting. After all, her work is characterized by philosophical
reflections on human existence in the universe and the individual's
perception of today's problems, saturated with deep folk rituals and
symbolism.
This is the second personal exhibition of the artist at the
O.Osmerkin Museum in 2023. The first exhibition of digital collages
"2022 Christ's Birthday" was presented on the anniversary of the
beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The exposition of the current virtual opening consists of
thirty-nine miniature drawings from a sketchbook measuring 11,5x11,5 cm,
made in 2022-2023 with black and red liners, and fifteen poems created
in one breath of impressions and feelings of a person who found himself
in the realities of war. Most of the drawings were published on the
artist's personal pages in the social network, and were also exhibited
at the museum exhibitions of the "Second Biennale of Naive Art and Art
of Primitivism "The Velor Cat" named after Andriy Lipatov" and "ART
Shelter for Artists" in 2022. And this is only a small part of the
multifaceted artistic project of Olha Krasnopolska, which includes
painting, graphics and poetry, which is also visual art. It was born as
a premonition of disaster, tragedy, pain and suffering, and it is
realized already during the war as a reflection of conflicting thoughts
and emotions, full of disappointments and hopes, with an undeniable
belief in the victory of good over evil, light over darkness.
This is how the artist Olha Krasnopolska herself presents her
project in the thematic booklet of the exhibition: "Rubbles of pain and
faith... Almost forty drawings from my "pink sketchbook" and one and a
half dozen poems from my bleeding soul, created starting from February
23, 2022, when my the first black angel... Pain lives in my pictures,
and God lives in my poems... And I share all this - pain and faith with
you... Because sometimes it is necessary to cry in order to continue
Living... Black and red in the pictures are enough to capture the most
important thing that is now what happens to us, what worries us, what we
fear and what we hope for... And the poems are also drawn... often
without syntax and punctuation, words and lines create a graphic
composition, like a separate picture... Cry... And let the tears cleanse
you of pain and strengthen your faith..."
During the event, which was attended by artists and poets,
relatives and friends of the artist, as well as her students, because
she is also a successful teacher of fine arts, Olha Krasnopolska
demonstrated her pink sketchbook, the drawings from which made up the
exposition of the exhibition, and told the story of their creation and
that she wrote paintings based on some of them. But most of all those
present were impressed by her author's poems, which she read emotionally,
with soulfulness. At the end of the creative meeting, the artist
presented everyone with an autographed exhibition booklet. |
