"THE INVINCIBLE" art exhibition to the Independence Day of Ukraine

On August 22, 2022, the presentation of the art exhibition "THE INVINCIBLE" to the Independence Day of Ukraine took place in the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum as part of the art project "Art Studios - 2022" on the theme: "Portraits of contemporaries against the background of war".
The exposition consists of more than 250 portraits made by artists in various graphic techniques, which are the result of the creative work of artists during February - August 2022. For the image, the artists each time chose a new nature - their fellow artists, journalists, local historians, employees of museums and other cultural institutions, young people, who are our contemporaries. In June-August, artists with the assistance of the head of the Kirovohrad regional council, Serhiy Shulga, created many portraits of volunteers, psychologists, doctors, and also held field trips to the Kirovohrad regional clinical hospital for war veterans, where they painted portraits of combatants. Memorable are the studies with the participation of representatives of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad Region - a firefighter, a pyrotechnician and a psychologist, as well as teachers and cadets of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, which moved from Mariupol to Kropyvnytskyi.
You can read about how art studios were held on the museum website.
The curators of the project are Andriy Nadezhdin, a leading researcher of the museum, Honored Artist of Ukraine, and Olga Krasnopolska, the head of the fine arts department of the Kropyvnytskyi Children's School of Arts. Studio participants: members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Lyudmila and Oleksandr Demydenko, Iryna Kukharenko, Olga Kolomiets and Yuriy Vintenko, Oleksandr Kiryanov, the teacher of the Art School named after Oleksandr Osmerkin, artists from Kropivnytskyi Natalia Kornilova and Yulia Tarasova, artists from Dnipro Maria Grim (Rakhmanova) and Oleksandr Vasylenko, Kyiv artist Oksana Samiylenko and Kropyvnytskyi photographer Oleksandr Shuleshko.
Portrait heroes and numerous fine art fans came to the opening. Everyone looked with interest at the portraits of our contemporaries, which make up the general image of invincible Ukrainians. A special highlight of the event was the showing of a video presentation about the art project - a photochronicle of the studios and video stories that were broadcast on the all-Ukrainian informational telethon "One News (Yedyni Novyny)" https://youtu.be/knJQsOnMirI. The author of the video presentation is the artist and musician Oleksandr Kiryanov, a participant in the project.
The head of the Kirovohrad Regional Council, Serhiy Shulga, made a welcome speech: "Three months ago, the idea was born to expand the already existing museum art project by adding to it those who work for victory every day - military, volunteers, rescuers, doctors. Our artists worked in the hospital, communicated with the military and at the same time became therapy for them. Each portrait is a story, it is the life of our heroes. I thank the artists for their powerful and important work."
The director of the museum, Vita Chernova, introduced the artists who participated in the art project and presented them with thanks, and also presented the young volunteer Matvii Rozinka, whose portraits are exhibited at the exhibition, with a souvenir from the museum - a symbolic ceramic heart painted in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag. And all those present received an informational flyer about the exhibition as a reminder.
The vernissage ended with photo sessions near the portraits in the exposition and numerous interviews of the curators and participants of the art project with representatives of the local mass media.
We offer you to familiarize yourself with the report of Iryna Poluliakh "Exhibition of portraits of the invincible" of the TV program "News" of the "Kropyvnytskyi Regional Directorate UA: KROPYVNYTSKYI" branch of JSC "National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine" on August 22, 2022.
