On February 12, 2021, an opening of the
themed exhibition “Painting by Merited Artist of Ukraine Feliks
Polonskyi “A heavy, red cloud came…” to the 150th anniversary of Lesia
Ukrainka took place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
The exposition of the exhibition was presented within the art
project “One Painting Exhibition”, which presupposes the organization of
themed exhibitions to the jubilee of the work of fine art or its author,
as well as the corresponding dates and events.
The current museum event is dedicated to the double jubilee –
the 150th anniversary of a famous Ukrainian writer, translator, folklore
specialist, cultural activist Lesia Ukrainka and the 80th anniversary of
the talented Kropyvnytskyi artists, Merited Artist of Ukraine Feliks
Polonskyi.
The painting “A heavy, red cloud came…” was handed by the
artist to the museum collection in autumn of 2014 during the
presentation of the personal exhibition “Lyrical Motifs of Feliks
Polonskyi” within the art project “Laureates of the Regional Award in
Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin”. According to
the painter, the background of the portrait image of Lesia Ukrainka
became her photo of 1896 and the artistic reaction to her romantic work
Légende des Siécles.
The first visitors of the exhibition became the museum
workers who contemplated the portrait of Lesia Ukrainka and looked
through the photographs and numerous catalogues, booklets, newspaper
publication about the author of the painting, Merited Artist of Ukraine
Feliks Polonskyi. They also read through the collections of poems by
Lesia Ukrainka “Thoughts and Dreams”. |
