On May 18, 2020, O.O.Osmerkin
Art-Memorial Museum hosted an opening of a personal exhibition of a famous Ukrainian
artist, People’s Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Nadezhdin “Modernist in Art – Pragmatic
in Life” from the series “Secrets of Museum Collection” to the International Museum
Day. The exhibition was held on the artist’s birthday and dedicated to his 85th
anniversary.
The exposition of the exhibition consists of thirteen paintings and
graphic works of People’s Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Nadezhdin from the museum
collection “Modern Ukrainian Fine Art” of the different years, starting from the 1960s
and until nowadays. The works were created during the years marked with special events in
life and work, which are memorable for the artist and his family. There are a lot of
self-portraits, as well as landscapes and still lifes.
Before May 15, 2020, People’s Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Nadezhdin
came to the museum to see the exhibition. He presented the museum with a painting “Self-portrait”
created in 1982 that was exhibited in the museum at the personal exhibition on the
occasion of the 80th anniversary of the artist “Self-portrait. Art Reflections of
Mykhailo Nadezhdin” within the art project “In the Artist’s Studio” in 2015. The
painting has been added to the exposition immediately.
The museum director Vita Chernova handed People’s Artist of Ukraine
Mykhailo Nadezhdin the Congratulatory Letter on the presentation of the jubilee exhibition
and a souvenir cup with the image of the artist’s painting “In the artist’s studio.
Inspiration II” from the museum collection.
After learning about Mykhailo Nadezhdin’s visit to the museum, his
friends and colleagues came to congratulate him on the birthday, among them were Merited
Artist of Ukraine Serhii Shapovalov, who had his birthday on that very day, a famous
photographer, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, photo
correspondent of the newspaper “Vechirnia Hazeta” Oleksandr Shuleshko, the head of
Utilities management unit of the House of Artist of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine Mykhailo Makoviei, and journalists of Kropyvnytskyi broadcasting company “TTV”
Dmytro Kokhan and Oleksandr Kolominov, who interviewed the artist and shot the exposition
of the exhibition.
Unexpectedly, despite the lockdown, an art feast took place in the
museum, which included creative communication between the artists, playing the piano, and
contemplation of works of visual art. |
