On December 12, 2019, O.O.Osmerkin
Art-Memorial Museum hosted the opening of the exhibition of works by pupils and graduates
of Art School named after O.O.Osmerkin “Face of modernity” dedicated to the 60th
anniversary of the school opening. The exhibition was opened on the occasion of the 127th
anniversary of the artist and pedagogue O.O.Osmerkin (December 8).
The exposition of the exhibition consists of more than 60 works by
pupils of different age categories and graduates of the last two years. The works were
created under the supervision of the teachers of the school. The works of the pupils of
the preparatory group supervised by the High-Achiever of Education of Ukraine Iryna
Zantariia were shown for the first time.
The theme exhibition represents only the portrait genre. The images of
the contemporaries created in different art and decorative techniques – watercolors,
gouache, pencil, gel ink pen, and also applique, fascinate with emotional character and
peculiar features of the depicted faces – of a mother, girlfriend, brother, or a
friendly caricatures or fantastic masks of Picasso style.
The event started with an improvised guided-tour in the memorial hall
of the museum. The leading researcher of the museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii
Nadezhdin, who is not only a graduate of the school but also a former teacher, told the
pupils and their parents about the life and work of the talented artist and pedagogue,
Professor of Painting Oleksandr Osmerkin.
The head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of City Council of
Kropyvnytskyi Anna Nazarets congratulated the pupils and teachers of the school on the
presentation of the exhibition. She presented them with the booklets – information and
travel guide-book “1-2-3 days in Kropyvnytskyi” published this year on the occasion of
the town anniversary within the municipal program of the development of Culture and
Tourism. Anna Nazarets wished the young artists to reproduce in their drawings
architectural monuments of the historical center of the town, which are the face of modern
Kropyvnytskyi.
The museum director Vita Chernova congratulated on the vernissage and
presented pupils with the creative tools – brushes, gouache and watercolor paints,
pastel, paper for watercolors, and also a sweet present.
Dmytro Artimoshyn thanked the teachers on the behalf of the parents.
The festive mood was created with the help of the musical greetings
from a 7th-grade pupil in piano from the Music School No.2 named after Yulii Meitus,
laureate of all-Ukrainian and international musical competitions Hlib Shevchenko. He
performed Frederic Chopin's Prelude No.3. Also, a graduate of the Art School and currently
a college student Halyna-Anzhelika Kucherenko fascinated everybody with her flute
performance of a work by French composer, a representative of musical impressionism Claude
Debussy.
The peculiarity of the exhibition presentation was art workshops when
pupils worked at the easel and reproduced their fellow pupil teenager, who is a bright
representative of a modern generation. The created portraits were added to the exposition
of the exhibition at once. |
