On
September 2, 2019, a charity culture and art event “Open Doors Day”,
dedicated to the Knowledge Day (September, 1) was held in the museum.
On the first day of the academic year, 3rd-year students of the Faculty
of Pedagogics and Psychology of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogic University named after
Volodymyr Vynnychenko came to the museum with their lecturer Yuliia Malezhyk, Ph.D. in
Pedagogics, a member of the National Union of Folk Art Artists of Ukraine.
The future teachers of the elementary school enjoyed the guided tour
conducted by Vita Chernova, the museum director, who told them about the life and work of
the outstanding fellow-townsmen – a painter Oleksandr Osmerkin and his uncle, architect
Yakiv Pauchenko, in whose house the future Professor of Painting was raised in the
atmosphere of art. The history of the paintings' creation and the museum legends
fascinated the students; especially they were impressed by the dramatic events in the life
of the painter and his selfless love for his wife Nadiia Hryhoriivna, who was the
initiator of the museum foundation. The students took photos by the portrait of the artist’s
wife.
The museum guests also were fascinated by the themed art exhibitions
“Summer Vernissage” to the 25th anniversary of the museum opening and “Rise of
Ukrainian Spirituality” to Ukraine Independence Day. Both exhibitions present works of
Ukrainian artists from the museum collection. The girls enjoyed contemplating the works of
their colleagues, students of the Subdepartment of Art and Graphic Art of the Art
Department, shown at the exhibition “Vytynanka about EVERYTHING” to Youth Day.
This was an artistic celebration of Knowledge Day for the
students, who will soon teach and nurture pupils, promoting high art and aesthetic taste. |
