On April 25, 2019, an art exhibition “The Museum Easter Exhibition” was opened in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum for the Easter holiday.
    The exposition of the exhibition consists of paintings, graphic and decorative works from the museum collection “Modern Ukrainian Visual Arts”. The authors of the works are talented Ukrainian artists, the majority of whom are laureates of the Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin and the Regional Award in Architecture, Heraldry, Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Art named after Yakiv Pauchenko.
    Easter is the oldest Christian feast of the Resurrection of Christ. In Ukraine, it is closely related to the folk traditions that are based on the beginning of spring, the revival of earth and nature, renewal of active life after cold snowy winter. That is why works shown at the exhibition are dedicated to these symbols – spring landscapes of our steppe land, tender floral still lifes, and numerous images of cathedrals, monasteries, and small churches.
    The visitors studied the exhibition that has not only artistic but also historical, educational, and spiritual meaning. Special attention is drawn by paintings Easter Night by Andrii Lipatov, who reproduces in his author’s manner a moment of the life of Yelisavethrad dwellers in their houses on ancient streets before the Easter; and Easter Day in the Museum by Andrii Nadezhdin, the plot of which brings us to the times of the architect Yakiv Pauchenko, because the depicted memorial items are from his house, which is now the museum; the items narrate us history of a talented family, about the icon-painting studio inherited by the architect from his father, where he created the architectural projects, including the project of a listed building the Church of the Ascension in Bobrynets town, which was portrayed by Serhii Shapovalov in his work Blue Cathedral.
