On September 13, 2018 a presentation of the photo album “The city of five names.At the crossroads of styles and epochs.Architectural images of the city of Kropyvnytskyi captured by Ihor Demchuk” took placein O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The photo album was presentedwithin the program of Town Day celebrations.
    Bilingual, Ukrainian and English literary and artistic edition by the publishing house “Imeks-LTD”, editor-in-chief – Tamara Samiliak, at support of Town Council of Kropyvnytskyi within the program of the development of culture and tourism, and dedicated to the town founded in 1754 as Yelisavethrad, which during the Soviet period was named Zinovievsk (1924-1934), Kirovo(1934 - 1939) and Kirovohrad (1939 - 2016), and now bears a name of Kropyvnytskyi.
    The photo album includes color photographs from the funds of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum, which were shown at the exhibitions of the author’s photos by Merited Journalist Ihor Demchuk: “Stop and admire” to the 145th anniversary of the architect Ya.V.Pauchenko (2011) and “Dvortsova Street – the past and the present” (2014), “Velyka Perspektyvna Str. – from St. Yelisaveta fortress to Guardian Angel of the town” (2015), “From caryatid to high-tech. Allurement of facade plastic art of the town on Inhul”dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artists of architecture Ya.V.Pauchenko (2016), “Central Square of the town: pages of the chronicle” (2017), “Tourist gems of Kropyvnytskyi town” (2018) within the museum art project “At the crossroads of the streets of Yelisavethrad-Kirovohrad” to the Town Day.
    The photo album was presented by the complier – a leading researcher of the museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin. He told that the edition is subdivided into an introductory part with an article explaining features of the architectural environment of Kropyvnytskyi historical part development. It also includes brief information about the authors. The other three sections cover two main historical paths of the town – Dvortsova Street and Velyka Perspektyvna Street, including a subsection – HeroiMaidanu Square. Also, information about the museums and architectural landmarks is indicated. Each photo album section starts with a booklet frontispiece of the museum exhibition. The album final part is “List of figures” with a short abstract of the depicted objects.
    The deputy mayor NataliiaDziuba and head of the Department of Culture and Tourism Anna Nazarets mentioned that funds have been allocated on the development of book publishing in the region from the municipal budget three years in a row.Several photo albums were presented to the heads of regional unions of photo artists, writers, architects, artists, and heraldists who commendedthe edition about the town in their speeches.
    Merited Journalist of Ukraine Bronislav Kumanskyi and member of the National Unions of Journalists, Photo Artists, and Film Makers of Ukraine Volodymyr Moshchynskyi gave congratulatory speeches and characterized the photo album. They were joined by the colleague Vasyl Bondar, head of the regional organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine who is the initiator of the title of the series of the publications “The city of five names”.
    A pleasant musical surprise was a performance of chamber trio “Viola” (head – teacher Tetiana Pavlova, accompanist – Nina Zubchenko) of the Music School No.2 named after YU.S.Meitus headed by Merited Worker of Culture of Ukraine Valentyna Revenko. Violin players Oleksandr Kushnariov and Lidia Chornobryvets, and cellist Aidan Aliievapleased everyone with the performance of Ukrainian folk Cossacks’ song “Yatransternly wimples” and music compositions “Romantic song” by H.Svyrydov, “Oblivion” by A.Piazzolli, “Merry violin” by V.Sapozhnin.
    After the event, all the present enjoyed contemplating the exhibition of the author’s photographs of Merited Journalist Ihor Demchuk “Tourist gems of Kropyvnytskyi” with the art project to the Town Day “At the crossroads of Yelisavethrad-Kirovohrad streets” dedicated to the 126th anniversary of the town foundation and received the theme booklet of the photo exhibition.
