On July 12, 2018 Merited Architect of Ukraine Vitalii Yefymovych Kryvenko visited O.O.Osmerkin Museum and gifted unique items to the museum – sketches of Nadiia Heorhiivna Osmerkina to the project of reconstruction of the museum and the catalogue of the exhibition of works by O.O.Osmerkin that was shown in 1989 in the Central House of Artists in Moscow and in 1990 in Kyiv in Museum of Russian Art (now the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery”). The catalogue has a signing “To Vitalii Yefremovych a companion and faithful, a man of principle, and demanding architect, devoted to the idea of intended in Kirovohrad house-museum of the artist Osmerkin. 29.VI. 1990. N.Osmerkina”.
Nadiia Heorhiivna Osmerkina – a widow of the artist, took an active part in the creation of the museum in 1985. Being an architect she developed a project of the reconstruction of the museum building. It presupposed the renovation of the building to its original state and replanning of the interior in order to create expositional halls. Vitalii Yefremovych Kryvenko told about this – at that time he was head of the Department of Town Planning, Architecture, Land Planning, and Land-Use of Kirovohrad Executive Committee. He discussed with Nadiia Heorhiivna the details of the project, maintained general supervision over the constructional work on the reconstruction of the ancient mansion.
It should be mentioned that Vitalii Yefremovych Kryvenko as a well-known architect and head of Kirovohrad Regional Branch of Ukrainian Heraldic Society is one of the initiators of the establishment by Regional Council of the Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry, and vexillology and decorative and applied art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in 2002. He was a laureate of the award in 2004 and 2018. Also, he was among the initiators to name the street where O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum - Historical, town planning, and architectural monument of 1899 “Residence building of Pauchenko” is situated, after a talented architect Yakiv Vasyliovych Pauchenko, who created the architecture of the historical center of Elisavethrad (now Kropyvnytskyi). The renaming was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the architect in 2016.
The staff of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum expresses gratitude to Merited Architect of Ukraine V.Ye.Kryvenko for valuable gifts to the museum and sharing interesting facts about the creation of the museum.
